Start: Triberg

Setting off from our fantastic cottage in the Black Forest 12km from Triberg,we visited Triberg, which was fantastic as it was full of ornaments and lights for Christmas time. We bought some food and drinks for the pic nic planned and started our driving through the Black Forest.

Station 2: Alpirsbach

Another beautiful church ahead! Joined to the old Benedictine Abbey buildings, it has a romanesque floor and supports a gothic chancel! Just amazing!

Station 3: Freudenstadt

AtMummelsee: This small, dark glacial lake at the foot of the Hornisgrinde is at the highest point of the Northern Black Forest. The day was sunny and the lake incredibly beautiful. We could on it (and slipped and fell down!) We bought some souvenirs and a huge Schwarzwald Torte, that we would enjoy that night, after the tiring journey! Freudenstadt :the crossing of several routes this 17th century town built the scenery for a nice walk! We visited the Marktplatz and the 17century cathedral, the most important Romanesque church in the Black Forest.

Station 4: Baden-Baden

The luxurious resort amazed each one of us! We walked down the Lichtentaler Allee, enjoyed the scenery, visited the Casino and Christmas market, the Goenneranlage (a pretty park with fountains and pergolas flanking a rose garden(we just imagined how beautiful it would be in the spring!).Our precious afternoon in Baden Baden ended with a hot cappucino in an aristocratic cafe in the center of the town. We all left impressed, gazing at the Neus Schloss, which we hadn'd had the time to visit! Next time!
